(More customer reviews)I'm burned out on the 'legendary' or rare one-of-a-kind Pokemon that've been in the last 2 generations of the games because of how many there are now, and Phione definitely isn't one of my favorites. But like I said with Jirachi and others from the last couple of waves of mini plush, Phione looks great. Anyone who likes Phione or Manaphy will love this little guy, and even people like me who don't care much for it will at least feel a little guilty looking at that little happy smile on its face.
Phione is about the same size as your standard mini plush Pokemon, but the antenna tentacle thing is pretty long when extended. He can't stand up since he doesn't have legs, so if you display your Pokemon, he'll need to be propped up. For youngsters who play with them, Phione is super cuddly and soft thanks to that big head. The eyes, spots on the forehead and mouth are all sewn in, while the red on its stomach is fleece. I feel like a broken record talking about the Pokemon from the recent waves, but Phione looks exactly as he does in the stock picture, which is a good thing, though the colors are a bit more vibrant in-person.
The only negative about Phione is a minor one, but it has to do with the durability of the toy- the antenna tentacle thing is pretty thin where it connects to his head, and could easily be ripped off. So be careful with that area. Otherwise, there's nothing to look out for.
My daughter had to have Phione when she saw it in the store, and since we got it for her, I'm kind of taking a liking to the Pokemon. It's cute, and is one of the more unique looking blue ones in the collection. And for fans of the character, it's on-par with the Japanese releases which go for 4 times the price. As of this typing, you should still be able to find Phione in stores, so don't give into inflated prices yet.
